Quantity Surveyor

• Prepare capital and lifecycle cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Advise on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements.
• Draft contract packages, pricing documents, instructions, and PQQ questionnaires.
• Handle queries during the tender period, conduct commercial evaluations, and monitor project progress.
• Value proposed instructions and progress on-site for interim certificates.
• Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variation, determine claims, and expedite contractors’ insurance, bonds, and collateral warranties.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes, assist in selection, and analyze bids.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, identify risks and opportunities, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise on contract terms and conditions, collaborate with project teams, and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate cost records, prepare regular reports, and provide cost advice to project stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Based in Belgium with conversational French.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant legislation.
• Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent numerical, and analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in using relevant software tools such as Excel, cost estimating software, and project management software.
• Professional accreditation or membership with relevant industry bodies (e.g., RICS, AIQS) may be preferred or required depending on the region or employer.
