PSDP & Principal Designer Services
Safe Design. Compliant Projects. Reduced Risk.
At ASafeGlobal, we deliver specialist Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) services in Ireland and Principal Designer services in the UK and mainland Europe. These roles are a legal requirement on construction projects with more than one contractor – and they are central to ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient design. By influencing safety at the earliest stage, we help clients reduce risks, avoid costly delays, and ensure projects meet regulatory obligations. We have specialist knowledge in commissioning, QA/QC, and health & safety management, experience across sectors, always acting in your best interests and compliance assured.
What is the PSDP / Principal Designer Role?
- Ireland (PSDP): Appointed under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, the PSDP coordinates health & safety during the design stage.
- UK & Europe (Principal Designer): Appointed under the CDM 2015 Regulations, the Principal Designer holds similar responsibilities for managing design risk in projects with multiple contractors.
Although titled differently, both roles have the same focus: ensuring health & safety is considered in every design decision. At ASafe Global, don’t just tick boxes – we embed safety into design, reducing risks before they ever reach site.
